Made To Order Jazz Bass 4 or 5 string

-Jazz Bass, 4 or 5 string - your choice. Individually made to order and customized to your specifications. These basses go far beyond your average J-bass. Each one is hand crafted by me, a long time bassist. I know what we want and need in an instrument. An instrument that simply can't be ignored. As beautiful to look at as it is to hear, and play. Special attention is given to the neck joint and lower horn contour to allow the most seamless access to upper frets – especially with the 24 fret option.
 
- Body Wood Choice: Ash, Mahogany or Alder. Other choices dependent upon market availability. Exotic wood choice subject to additional cost and market availability. –
 
- Finish: Satin poly is standard. Flat, gloss, nitro lacquer, oil available on request. Vintage tint, solid and candy colors also available. Additional cost to be negotiated.
Standard build neck options: Maple neck, Jazz profile, 24 frets, 12” radius. 17.5mm string spacing, 43/72mm nut/heel, respectively. Satin or raw finish, depending on wood choice. One piece option available for an upcharge. These necks are slim and silky smooth for a light, fast feel. Choice of maple, ebony, or rosewood finger board. Block inlays or dots also available (fretted only). Additional cost for specialty inlays or binding, to be negotiated. 
 
-Necks are fitted with ferrules and threaded inserts - no cheezy wood screws!
 
-Your choice of configuration using  Nordstrand p'ups: MM, J (60’s or 70s’ placement), P, or P/J. Soap Bars also available. Click on the link to shop Nordstrand pickups, or contact me for guidance.

-Standard build is passive with great tone options. VBT is standard w/push-push vol (series/parallel) & push-push tone (treble cut/mid scoop). Toggle can be substituted or added for p’up configurations or tone settings. The tone circuit is my own design utilizing some tried and true old school methods. The circuit is tailored to the individual p’ups. The treble cut is light – just enough to tame the brightness of new strings. Functionally it tends to behave more like a mid-boost by shifting the resonant frequency of the p’ups down. In the up position, the tone control engages a mid-cut feature. As an added bonus, the mid-cut adds mild tube-like saturation when dimed. Blend control is a custom taper pot to facilitate smooth, even blending that’s not all within 10 degrees of center like most others. All wiring and cavities are redundantly shielded for the quietest operation. I use solid core wire almost exclusively for the best possible signal transfer.
 
- Nordstrand 2B or 3B preamp available as an upgrade. (click the link for specs). Preamp is wired in parallel to compliment the passive tone circuit. Active circuit can be neutralized by setting active tone controls to center. Control layout is fully customizable. 3 band EQ with adjustable mid frequencies is available for a small upcharge.
